In recent years he has appeared with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon in Mozart’s Mass in C minor under the direction of Ton Koopman, and made his debut with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in Haydn’s The Creation. He also appeared in the prestigious Lieder Recital Series at Stockholm Concert Hall, where he will return in 2025 for his debut with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.
Arvid Eriksson (b. 1998) graduated from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm in 2021. Growing up in a family of musicians, he began his professional career at the age of sixteen when joining the renowned ensemble Göteborg Baroque, of which he remained a member until 2022. He has been awarded numerous scholarships in recognition of his artistry and also holds a degree in church music.
His extensive concert repertoire further includes major works by J.S. Bach such as the St John Passion, St Matthew Passion, Christmas Oratorio, Mass in B minor and numerous cantatas; Handel’s Messiah; Haydn’s Stabat Mater; and requiems by Brahms, Mozart, Fauré, and Duruflé. He has also performed works by Beethoven, Britten, Monteverdi, Roman, Larsson, and many others.
Arvid is an accomplished recitalist with a broad art song repertoire. He has performed major song cycles including Schumann’s Dichterliebe and Liederkreis op. 24, Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder, Beethoven’s An die ferne Geliebte, and Vaughan Williams’ Songs of Travel. He is frequently heard in songs by Schubert, Brahms, Ravel, Sibelius and Bridge. Closest to his heart are Swedish art songs, and his interpretations of works by Stenhammar have been particularly noted.
